Goodbye Microsoft!

After almost four years at Microsoft, the time has come for me to say goodbye.

I joined Microsoft in 2017, something I never thought possible for a first-generation American and Black Caribbean Woman from Harlem, USA (NYC).

Throughout my time here, I have had the honor and privilege of meeting and getting to know so many wonderful techies and product engineering colleagues from around the world. I have traveled to places I only dreamed of (Israel is beautiful and has the yummiest food, Brazil is such a melting pot, Mexico is lovely…).

I learned so much about so many things, including

  • Creating clarity over confusion

  • Customer empathy as a strength

  • Building resilient Azure cloud platforms & microservices

  • What it takes to move from on-premises to the cloud &

  • Getting every enterprise in the world to enable MFA & password auth.

  • The value of relationships, patience, and always maintaining a growth mindset

  • Leadership

If I am honest, some days were tough, but no one ever said that growth comes from comfort. I look back on those moments as growth opportunities that will continue to catapult me forward.

To everyone who has ever reached out, extended a hug, kudos, Teams messages, kind words, guidance, support, or advice – thank you!

To my close confidants and colleagues in Redmond and beyond, it has been an honor folks, I am going to miss you dearly but know that I am just a phone call or text away. And if you are ever in New York City, give me a ring.

I will be taking a little time off to recharge but am excited for what comes next – stay tuned 😊
